Family Freedom Run!

This weekend has been so much fun...we started on Friday and ended with this race on Monday!
I ran the mile with Chelsea...
Then Mark, Brooke, and I ran the 5k!
Typically the 4th of July is blazing hot.
So I appreciated the misty cool day!
I ran the best 5k for this season....23:25

After 4 days of 4th of July fun!
I am happy to say I have a whole new attitude...
Thanks to a friend of mine!
They invited us to their lake home on Saturday to BBQ and then watch the fireworks over the lake...which I must say, was FANTASTIC!

I just happened to ask if he was still running.
"Every day...8 miles!"
me: "How?"
I just do it!
me: "I am having a hard time finding time:
"I don't have time, I take it from my sleep!"
me: speechless

I could tell he had No interest in my GIGANTIC list of excuses!

I knew he was right!
Every time that I have been able to be consistent with my running I have to do it EARLY!!!
I am sure that the majority of you would say the exact same thing?

  1. What a great attitude! It's hard to find time sometimes.. and I do take it from my sleep once in a while, but it's tough. I guess that's something to think about and work on!

The family freedom run sounds like it was fun!

  3. Yes, living in a perpetual state of sleep deprivation is pretty much a given in my life! In all seriousness, though, it takes going to be very early...sometimes right after the kiddos.

    Sounds like a great weekend!

  4. Yes, I have more consistency when I get it done in the morning. Less chance of other things getting in the way as the day goes on!

Sounds like you guys had a wonderful weekend! So did we!

  6. If it doesn't get done in the morning, it doesn't get done. Always tired. OH well. Congrats on the 5k time, awesome!

we had enough heat here for the both of us. In fact, it is still here.....just checked...102˚F...not counting heat index.

  8. I LOVE the nails, girl!! And the shoes are wa cool, too! Yeah, those 4th of July races are always the pits with the heat. Unless you live in Denver ... where it was a balm 65 degrees at the start of the 4-miler my son ran in Sunday. Not to rub it in or anything. :). Nice run girl...so fun you got the chance to run with the fam.

  14. Great 5k time! Sounds like you had lots of fun. Yep, you're right. I definitely take it from my sleep as well and run 6 days per week. I sleep 5 hours per night on average. I do try to catch up when possible. I find the fitter I am, the less sleep I need.

  18. I always want to take time out of my sleep to fit in more training but I just can't do it either, it's so frustrating! I don't know how people who don't get enough sleep keep going!
