Is This The End of the Road?

Or Just the Beginning?

This post is sooooo very over due!

Is it NOT obvious yet????
That I may need some HELP!

If I didn't care about running...and fitness...then there would NOT be a problem!
So the problem is I do care!
But I am not finding the time or energy...anywhere!
I am wondering if maybe I need a personal trainer???
Some one to tell me what to run...what to eat...what to wear! =)

What I am doing is NOT working....
Maybe because I AM DOING NOTHING!!!
(Often....Nothing brings not such great results)

I am a firm believer in the Harder you Work the Luckier you get...
Well, let's just say my luck may have run out!

Does anyone one use online trainers?
Who?
Does it work for you?
Do you feel like you can still get the needed council?
Who do you use?

I have said this 100 times...and I will say it again...probably another 100 times!
Thanks for all the great comments!
You guys keep me going!

I promise to get everyone's blogs read...
and I am sorry for falling behind...
I miss reading them...it is the best blogging community around!

  1. You might check local running stores for running programs. A couple here have some specifically for running. You get coaching, face to face interaction, with the coaches and other runners.

If there aren't programs they might hook you up with a coach or a local running club to help you out.

It depends on your goals if a coach is right for you.

  3. I like the idea of checking a running store...or maybe joining a once a week running group would help motivate you for the rest of the week. Don't be too hard on yourself though, I have a feeling you get lots of exercise in just running after your little ones all day :)

  4. Sending you a big hug! Lacking motivation was my biggest issue pre-Team in Training.

I agree wtih Anne, though - don't be too hard on yourself. Being a Mom to many small children comes with many challenges of their own. It is mentally exhausting, no matter how much we love them!

  5. It's not the end of the road....maybe just a New Road! Finding the time or energy with full family is the key. I'm on forced rest - no training mode and can already feel myself getting into a rut!

I did one session with Personal Trainer over the winter it was Great but expensive.

  6. I've never used a trainer. Find a goal race that is very realistic and work for that. That's what works for me. Good luck and hang in there...you'll be motivated and running soon again.

  7. im too cheap to pay someone to tell me what to do and plus i never stick to a plan anyways...but if youre a really regimented person and need a trainer I say go to you local gym or something....im sure they have one and you could have that initial consult where they give you a plan and then just follow-up later...saves on a lot of $$$ especially if you already know how to use the gym equipment and dont need someone to hold your hand through every workout.

  8. Just keep that half marathon coming up in June as motivation. You are so fast and just tell yourself that you will be stronger and faster after more training:) You already have several great suggestions! You will figure it out:) Hang in there!

  9. Sorry you are in a rut...it happens to everyone at some point or another. Maybe a coach is the answer? I used to have one and loved the experience.

  10. I have never used a trainer but I have a log-book and I write on my agenda what I have to do (swimming or running). However the cross training helps me to not be lazy, if I don't want to run ... I swim or the contrary.

  11. Dude! You've got like, what? Five kids? Cut yourself some slack. Motherhood is exhausting, and I have 1!

My coach is a totally online deal since she is in Hawaii. Nonetheless, it works. It does help to have someone to be accountable to. It isn't just about me not doing the work, but disappointing her too (I'm a people pleaser). So something like that might work for you.

  12. You are amazing, I don't know who can train a trainer like yourself, but we all can use a jump start here and there, I am thinking about getting a trainer or a...what is it called a um...well for lack of better words, weight watchers or something like that.
